Today we’re going to show you 8 hacks that will save you time in cooking. Fast and efficient! Fast-forward poached eggs or chopping lettuce with the pizza cutter – you won’t want to be without the following kitchen tricks in the future.

1. Poached egg

For this you need:

  • Cling film
  • long wooden skewer

That is how it goes:

Place a saucepan of water on the stove and stretch plastic wrap over the saucepan. Beat an egg in the foil and seal the foil over the egg. Fix the foil with a long wooden skewer that you stick through the foil. Now you can put the skewer with the egg in the cling film bag on the edge of the pot so that the egg hangs in the water. The egg white has hardened in a very short time and the yolk is still nice and liquid. A perfectly poached egg.

2. Peel the eggplant

For this you need:

  • Spit fork
  • Bunsen burner

That is how it goes:

Skewer the aubergine on a skewer fork and heat it all over with the bunsen burner. Then the aubergine can be peeled in a bowl of water in no time at all.

3. Mini cakes from aluminum foil cake pan

For this you need:

  • Aluminum foil
  • Log
  • dough
  • Straightening iron

That is how it goes:

Use a block of wood to form a small, rectangular cake pan out of a piece of aluminum foil. Fill in the batter and place the mold on the heating plate of a straightening iron. As soon as the mini cake has risen, it is ready. Dust it with powdered sugar.

4. Make a grater out of a tin can

For this you need:

  • empty tin can
  • nail
  • hammer

That is how it goes:

Use a nail to hammer holes through the bottom of an empty tin can from the inside out. The vegetable grater is ready.

5. Slice cheese slices of the same size

For this you need:

That is how it goes:

Instead of slicing cheese with a knife, just use a peeler. The advantage: all cheese slices have the same thickness.

6. Cut the lettuce with a pizza cutter

For this you need:

That is how it goes:

If you don’t have a sharp knife to hand, just cut the salad with a pizza cutter. It glides through the salad at least as smoothly as a knife.

7. Simply peel the orange

For this you need:

That is how it goes:

Draw up water on a syringe and inject it into the pulp of an orange. You will find that the orange is much easier to peel.

8. Quick “baked potatoes”

For this you need:

That is how it goes:

Skewer four toothpicks into a potato and place the tuber on the toothpicks in a microwave for 15 minutes. The baked potato is ready without an oven.
