Bottom up! Delicious beer cake

This recipe is a must for all beer drinkers. If you like beer and cake, this beer cake is definitely a culinary and optical enlightenment. In just a few steps, we conjure up a juicy cake that looks like a beer mug on the table. A recipe that is not only suitable for the Oktoberfest.

For this you need:

  • 4 eggs
  • 350 grams of sugar
  • 400 g of flour
  • 1 pack of baking powder
  • 240 ml of beer
  • 200 ml of oil

For the frosting:

  • 250 g cream cheese
  • 200 g cream
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 2 packets of cream stabilizer (even better: San-apart)
  • yellow food coloring

Also:

  • 4 baking molds (diameter: approx. 11 cm)
  • 2 toothpicks
  • Piping bag
  • Pretzel for the handle

That is how it goes:

1.) Put the eggs with the sugar in a bowl and beat them until frothy. Mix flour with baking powder and fold it into the foamy mass. Add the beer and oil and stir everything into a homogeneous batter.

2.) Grease and flour the 4 baking tins and divide the dough between them. Put the molds in the oven at 180 ° C top and bottom heat for 25 to 30 minutes. Then let the cakes cool and cut off the “lids” from three of them.

3.) Now you prepare the frosting. Mix the cream cheese with the powdered sugar. Then whip the cream with the cream stabilizer. Stir the cream into the cream cheese. Put about 1/3 of the cream cheese cream in another bowl and color it with yellow food coloring. Put the creams in the cold for about 1 hour.

4.) Now put the cake together. Spread the cream on the individual “lidless” cake circles and stack the pieces on top of each other. The cake that still has its “lid” is placed last on the “tower”.

5.) First coat the cake completely with the white cream cheese cream and then put it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. (Attention, you will need some of the cream cheese cream for the “foam” at the end.)

6.) Then you coat the vertical “cake wall” all around with the yellow cream cheese cream. Finally, use a spoon to make small vertical hollows in the cream so that the cake looks like a liter of beer.

7.) Pour the remaining white cream cheese cream into a piping bag with a simple nozzle and squirt the cream generously on top of the cake so that it looks like a head of foam.

8.) Break a pretzel in half and insert the “handle” into the side of the cake with the help of 2 toothpicks. The edible Maß beer is ready!

This cake is sure to be a hit every man’s day. But also female beer drinkers get their money’s worth with this delicious hop cake.
