3 extraordinary recipes with potatoes

Along with pasta and rice, potatoes are one of the standard carbohydrates on our plates. But just because they’re usually part of our food doesn’t mean they have to be prepared in the usual way. Here are three extraordinary recipes with potatoes – from pizza to fried potatoes, there is something for everyone.

1.) Potato pizza

For this you need:

  • 1 kg floury potatoes
  • 50 g melted butter
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 80 g grated parmesan cheese
  • 100 g mascarpone
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 10 salami slices
  • 1 mozzarella

That is how it goes:

1.1) Cook the potatoes in salted water and then peel them. Grease a springform pan with butter. Then put the potatoes in the pan and press them down with a glass.

1.2) Spread melted butter, salt, pepper and grated Parmesan cheese over the potatoes. Then put the whole thing in the oven for 15 minutes at 200 ° C top and bottom heat.

1.3) Brush the developing potato pizza with mascarpone and sprinkle with oregano. Then top the layer with salami and mozzarella. When finished, put the springform pan back in the oven; this time for 10 minutes at 200 ° C top and bottom heat. When the mozzarella has melted and turned a light brownish color, your potato pizza is ready.

2.) Potato salad cake

For this you need:

  • 1 kg predominantly waxy potatoes
  • 2 red apples
  • 300 g pickles
  • 1 onion
  • 250 g cream cheese
  • 150 g mayonnaise
  • 8 sausages
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tomato

That is how it goes:

2.1 Boil the potatoes in salted water, then peel them and cut them into cubes. Also cut the apples, onions and about half of the pickles into small pieces and put everything together in a bowl.

2.2 Mix the cream cheese and mayonnaise to a cream and season to taste with salt and pepper. Tip: Add a little cucumber water to make the mixture even creamier.
Mix the mayo cream with the rest of the ingredients in the bowl.

2.3) Put the potato salad in a springform pan and then put it in the refrigerator for at least an hour, or better overnight.

2.4 Cut the sausages and the remaining pickles into slices and decorate the potato salad cake with them and a slice of tomato. Then carefully remove it from the springform pan and serve.

3.) Marinated fried potatoes

For this you need:

  • 1 kg small potatoes (triplets)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 large spoon of yogurt
  • 100 grams of flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped dill
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
  • Oil for frying

That is how it goes:

3.1) Boil the potatoes in salted water and then peel them. Then mix the eggs with the yogurt, flour, paprika powder, dill, and salt. Then fold in the potatoes.

3.2) Then fry the marinated potatoes in sufficient oil until crispy – the slightly different fried potatoes are ready.

These three recipes are really anything but standard. As of today, no one can claim that potatoes are boring or even come from grandma’s time – a new era has dawned in which potatoes are deliciously marinated, served as cakes or even baked on the plate as pizza. What more do you want?
